Biography for Deb Ferns. . .
Education Level: BA in Business Communications from Oakland University and MBA from Central Michigan University.
Career History: Deb has spent over two decades as a corporate meeting planning and event producer, which includes production of Blue Angels and Thunderbirds airshows. Deb moved, with her husband (Gary) and their two daughters, from Detroit to Tucson in 1986. She started a special events company in 1991 (still operating) and went on to build and operate a corporate retreat facility in Tucson.

* Motivational speaker, theme of “Life Outside Your Comfort Zone” and “Life Is
NOT a Dress Rehearsal.”
Awards: Ferns won “Southern Arizona Small Business of the Year” in 2001. In June 2002 she was honored by Working Woman Magazine (national publication), winning awards for Entrepreneurial Excellence. In April 2004 she was received the Cox Media annual “Success Woman of the Year.”
Associations & Affiliations: Deb is an active member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), National Rifle Association (NRA), National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Second Amendment Sisters (SAS), and she is a life member of Girl Scouts of America.
Passions: Deb enjoys a wide variety of shooting sports, though her favorite is 3-gun SWAT competitions utilizing a rifle, pistol and shotgun. She teaches Hatha yoga and enjoys hobbies of fishing, horseback riding and water sports.
