First Lady of Hunting® Brenda Valentine has spent a lifetime promoting hunting, wearing the hats of national champion archer, world-class hunter, conservationist, T.V. spokesman and producer, author, photographer, and highly acclaimed speaker.
She serves as co-host of Bass Pro Shops’ “100% Real Hunting” on the Verses and the Bass Pro Shops, “King of Buck’s” program on The Outdoor Channel. She has also hosted the Gore-Tex “Extreme Hunting Adventures” and “Whitetail Adventure’s with Brenda Valentine on National television. A world traveler, she has hunted in six countries, including four trips to Africa, not to mention almost every region of the North America, right down to the rural beaches of Hawaii.
With a combination of talent, hard work, a quick wit and winning personality, Brenda crosses the boundaries of sex and gender to engage her audience. She is at home in any environment from the boardroom to the backwoods of Tennessee or the plains of Africa. She tackles tough issues like gun rights and conservation with insight and intelligence and her enthusiasm for teaching others about hunting and the outdoors is unparalleled. Her message to outdoorsmen is “include women and kids”. Brenda strives to introduce more women into shooting sports and hunting as a shared hobby with their husbands, other women, or as an outdoor adventure with their children.
Brenda inspires men and women to uphold hunting as it is threatened by political forces as well as competition from other sports and computers. In an economy in which people don’t depend on hunting for food, Brenda works hard to ensure that children understand where food comes from and the importance of game management. She tells the truth about hunting; that it is an honorable way of life and that hunters are good, decent people. She is an encouraging role model for all, promoting the idea that nothing is impossible: “If you’ve got a dream, do it!”
Brenda and husband Barney make their home in Puryear, Tennessee. The Valentines have two daughters, Scarlet and Melissa, and four grandchildren.
