EXTREME LEADERSHIP:
 [1 Hour]

Business/Motivational
“I had the occasion to think about creative leadership recently when I stepped off a cliff,” says Bane. “Luckily, I was wearing a climbing harness and a rope. But what made me think about leadership was that first terrifying step into thin air...What does stepping off cliffs have to do with leadership? I would argue almost everything...” This presentation, which includes a stunning slide show, strips away the myths—and the misinformation—about leadership. Using examples from mountaineering, cave diving, from special forces and law enforcement trainers, even bungie-jumping, Bane brings the “zen of leadership” from the outdoors to the boardroom. Each business presentation is custom-tailored for the specific business, with the specific goal of helping management achieve its goals. As a consultant and business journalist, Bane is in a unique position to help create a one-of-a-kind presentation.

As more and more states allow concealed carry, there’s a need for a way to cut through the misinformation and pure B-S about carrying guns…and Bane brings you all the inside information!
TRAIL SAFE:
 [1 Hour]

Informational
Based on Michael Bane’s hit book TRAIL SAFE — Averting Threatening Human Behavior in the Outdoors, this talk outlines a simple, straightforward way of living safely in a sometimes dangerous world. Rather than martial arts moves, TRAIL SAFE gives listeners a way of thinking about being safe, of planning one’s life not only for security, but to maximize the joys of living. “Security begins in your head,” says Bane, “and it can be learned…easily!” This is life-saving information, and definitely a talk for spouses and families as well as guys!
GUNFIGHTER LOGIC:
 [1 Hour]

Motivational
We’ve all watched the classic westerns, seen Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday walk down the dusty streets of Tombstone on the way to their destiny. And at one time or another, we’ve all asked ourselves, “How were those men different from the rest of us?” Michael Bane brings a unique perspective to the question…he’s not only a student of the Old West (and Executive Producer of the hit Outdoor Channel series COWBOYS), but has spent time with modern “gunfighters” in law enforcement and military special forces as well as participated in numerous high-risk sports such as mountaineering and cave diving. “I was amazed to discover that ‘gunfighter logic’ can help us all in our jobs and our personal lives,” says Bane…

Join Michael Bane — host of the hit Outdoor Channel weekly series SHOOTING GALLERY, one-time professional adventurer, war correspondent, expert in armed self-defense, mountain climber, cave diver, confidant to county music superstars, bicycle racer, black belt in the martial arts, major rock critic, expert cook, motivational speaker and the most outrageous and out-front blogging “gun guy” in America — for an unprecedented and enjoyable trip to the edges of the Known Universe.

“I believe I may be the only guy in the world whose resume includes ‘killing’ cops in training scenarios, hanging out with Willie Nelson and making a mean hollandaise sauce,” Bane says.

In more than 30 years of professional journalism, Bane has journeyed from the cocktail parties of New York celebrity journalism, to small wars in the Third World, to the executive boardrooms of some of the most successful companies in American and, most recently, to the ends of the earth in search of adventure.

Those adventures climbing big mountains, scuba diving flooded cave systems and kayaking spectacular rivers around the world have been chronicled in such magazines as Men’s Journal, Men’s Fitness, National Geographic Adventure, Esquire and literally hundreds of other publications. His nineteenth book, Over The Edge: A Regular Guy’s Odyssey In Extreme Sports, prompted the Wall Street Journal to ask…”How did Michael Bane become the George Plimpton from hell?” and became quite literally a global phenomenon.

A handgun shooter since the ripe old age of six, Bane began shooting competitively in the early 1970s, just in time for the “combat shooting” revolution. He was instrumental in helping launch practical pistol in the United States, was the founder and first editor of Front Sight, the journal of the United States Practical Shooting Association, co-wrote two landmark practical shooting books, You Can’t Miss with world champion shooter John Shaw and The Combat .45 Auto with famous gunsmith Bill Wilson.

In addition to being published in every major (and most minor) gun and outdoor magazines, Bane’s work has been seen in such top-shelf publications as Rolling Stone, Esquire, Men’s Journal, Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, Look, Fast Company, Wall Street Journal Online, Outside Online, Discovery Channel Online, and many others. His book Trail Safe has been called “one of the best written expressions ever of how the mind functions under potentially lethal stress” and praised by no less than Gavin De Becker, security consultant to Hollywood stars and head of the company that works with the Secret Service on threat analysis.

Perhaps not surprising in light of his past, Bane’s SHOOTNG GALLERY series has completely redefined shooting shows on television. “It’s like getting a post-graduate degree in ‘gun,’” says Bane.
